No way I'd buy if I had any real indication they would go there (there's just been a lot of supposition over the last few years on forums is all. PLAYBOX combines chord generation and sample layering with randomization, to produce one-of-a-kind sounds playable with just one finger.
The idea that they could, at some point, go subscription is on my mind as this seems to be a recent trend. More details from Native Instruments below.
There are a fair number of enticing things, from Straylight-type "cinematic" instruments, to the guitars (the Electric Mint strat especially) and session drums, and I'd probably use Noire (though I love Hammersmith that I got a while back in a big Soniccouture sale.)

I have K12 standard and would go to K14 ultimate if the upgrade is half off like it usually is. Ive never really written music by preprogramming chords, preferring to just play them myself. Installation of the library is handled through the Native Instruments Service Center. I think the layered samples model makes for a cool textural sounds, but im not sold on the chords feature. It runs on their Kontakt or Kontakt Player sample players, and it’s fully NKS-compliant for use within the Komplete Kontrol hardware ecosystem.

I do use (and need) full Kontakt, and this is no surprise as I originally had a tough call on just getting Kontakt or going for the upsell and getting Komplete. Playbox is one of the more recent offerings from the ever expanding Native Instruments catalog of sample libraries. IRISH HARP offers warm, lush, rich tones captured from a 34-string neo-Irish harp. I was amazed by all the Reaktor possibility, and Reaktor blocks looks cool, yet I don't think I've used either beyond just poking around. Native Instruments IRISH HARP is a brand new KONTAKT instrument that makes it easy to add authentic Irish harp sounds to your productions. I also don't use what is in Komplete nearly as much as I thought I would-for synth stuff, it's easier and more profitable for me to dig out a u-he synth usually instead of Massive X.
